FAQ ~ Savary Island Cottage Property
Please be sure to
read About the Cottage
and
About the
Builder, as some of the
email questions arriving are covered in those sections.
However, over the past several weeks there has been a
number of of good questions. Here they are, with
Andrew's answers.
Where
is the nearest swimming beach? Is it sandy?
The closest beach is
at mermaid rock which is about a 5 minute walk from the
cottage. This sandy beach faces north west, you get
incredible sunsets over desolation sound here. The closest
south facing beach is Sutherland trail a 5 minute bike ride
west to get to the beach trail. This is also a sandy beach.
Most beaches are sandy on the island except at the eastern
side and in the sunset trail area.
What direction does the cottage face? Is there sun?
The front of the
cottage points directly south. I have the septic
field south of the cottage as well as the septic field on
the adjoining lot to the south, so this gives a wide open
and sunny exposure. I have been working on this cottage all
winter and when the sun shines this little cottage captures
a piece of the sun continuously throughout the day. As you
many know, many interior lot cottages on Savary are growing
mold all winter long~ not this baby!
Are you going to put more pictures?
More pictures will
be appearing shortly both on the website and on the blog.
Soon the cedar siding will be on the cottage, which will
make a huge difference in its appearance (for the better,
of course!). Look forward to those images soon.
How much is the waterfront cottage going to cost, and how
big is it going to be?
These details will
be appearing in time on this website. The focus for now is
on this first cottage. Anyone who may be interested in
purchasing both lots / cottages together should contact
Andrew Van Wersch for information.
